Meet the Therapist

Lynn Fitch, MSW LCSW

I’m just a regular guy with a laptop, a fluffy black cat, and a living room that plays host to some of the best conversations and insights that I both get to participate in and bear witness to. I deeply desire to make therapy accessible, personal, and also enjoyable. My lens is rooted in making meaning of one’s own life, exploring your unique pathway to becoming your authentic self, and leaning into your own life complete with all of its competing and confusing circumstances. I am conversational in approach and find value in exploring value systems, motivation, and personal narrative.

While it sounds ā€œscaryā€ on paper, my primary lens is existential which simply means ā€œas it applies to one’s life.ā€ By this definition, you, the reader, are currently participating in an existential act by exploring therapy. It’s little wonder that a small-town Indiana boy who grew up looking at the stars fell into this lens. I deeply believe in the power of dialogue, in-depth exploration, and helping people find their voices regardless of the circumstances. My lens is rooted in personal responsibility and accountability and pushes forward toward each person finding their inner ā€œyesā€ to life even in the hard moments. I enjoy exploring the depths of value systems, helping people with ego formation and discovery of unique personhood.

I utilize a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, internal family systems, acceptance and commitment therapy, and existential analysis all wrapped up in an attitude of positive regard and humanism. You matter.

About Open Space Therapy

My history within mental health has been a little meandering, a lot confusing, and very impactful on my own personal development.

In short, I grew disillusioned by working for company after company that spent more resources chasing their bottom lines than they did building their staff to improve client outcomes. Candidly, I got tired of being burned by big pitches and huge missions that lost the plot of quality client care, and I recognized that I had the ability to do something about it. From this, Open Space Therapy was born and developed with a simple, yet powerful, mission that is grounded in my own personal values and ethics: therapy should be accessible.

Behind the Therapist

At the end of the day, I’m just a guy with a dream to help other people in different places in their life. I view it as an honor and a privilege to bear witness to you and your life, and I both want to hear what you have to say and am deeply interested in all things you.

About me, the person behind the therapist:

  • I enjoy playing doubles beach volleyball (and indoor, turf, and grass!)

  • I am a long-distance runner and will be running my first two ultra-marathons in early spring 2026

  • I am an avid reader and enjoy: Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Psychological Thrillers the most

    • 2025 Book of the Year: Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune

    • 2026 Books of Note: the ENTIRE Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman

  • I am a life-long learner and have interest in eventually pursuing a Ph.D

  • I am learning how to play Dungeons and Dragons

  • I am a very average Settlers of Catan player

  • I have an odd fascination with hoof-repair veterinary videos (poor cows!)

  • I write bad poetry and enjoy prose and beautiful words

  • I enjoy humor, laughter, and value goofiness in my life

  • I have done a competitive Karaoke League and love a good show tune
