Seen - A Poem

What does it mean to be seen,

held so fully and without fear

of the other bending or breaking

to trust the shoulders on which you rest

are not so frail as to shatter precious things

What does it mean to be seen,

to show your essence fully

without concern others will

turn away, to instead

be held in your radiance,

free to be as you are

What does it mean to be seen,

to embrace the certainty

you can occupy not just space,

but the present of the other:

unfettered, without unease

Simply, free to be
